Bayern Munich opened their 2026/27 Champions League campaign exactly the way you’d expect a club with their pedigree to open it: by making their opponents look like they wandered onto the wrong pitch. The opening 45 minutes told a familiar story of Bayern dominance without reward. Vincent Kompany’s side controlled 65.6% of possession and peppered the Bodo/Glimt goal, but the Norwegian club held firm through the break.
That storm arrived 78 seconds into the second half. Musiala broke the deadlock in the 47th minute with a goal that carried historical weight: it was Bayern’s 900th in European competition.
