Stock futures were in positive territory Friday morning as falling oil prices and anticipation of the August consumer price index report shaped early trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were up 299 points, or 0.6%, with S&P 500 and Nasdaq $NDAQ-100 contracts matching that gain. West Texas Intermediate fell 3.3% to settle near $99.08 a barrel, while Brent gave up 3.6% to trade around $103.76 a barrel.
