ECOLOG, owned by Peter Livanos, is highlighting the importance of security and trust in permit processes for pioneering energy projects, following its participation in the VOIS programme under the Safety Deal. The company has been working for years on securing permits for a large-scale liquid hydrogen import and CO2 export terminal in the Netherlands. As Ellen Van Der Veer, Development Lead for the pioneering project in Amsterdam, pointed out, beyond the technical and operational requirements, a critical factor for success is building trust between public authorities and investors. The challenge is even greater for innovative projects for which there are no international permitting precedents.Close cooperation among all stakeholders is considered a key prerequisite for projects to move forward safely and on a clear regulatory footing.
