Presidency push aligns with incoming EU online child safety proposal

Ireland, current holder of the rotating Council presidency, will prioritise negotiations on EU-wide rules to curb youngsters’ access to social media, it said on Friday.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is expected to unveil a legal proposal for a social media “delay” during her state of the union speech next Wednesday, as Euractiv reported in July.
