Viewers will not be able to stream dramas from ARY Digital — one of the country’s most popular entertainment channels — on its official YouTube channel September 17 onwards, it emerged on Thursday.
Entertainment journalist Maliha Rehman posted the news on Instagram on Thursday, saying the channel’s programming will be streamed exclusively on its ARY Plus application.
With over 68 million subscribers, ARY Digital’s YouTube channel is one of the most popular in Pakistan, with episodes of recent dramas like Dar-e-Nijaat and Bas Tera Saath Ho racking up viewer counts in the millions.
One of the channel’s most popular shows, 2024’s Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, amassed 206m views across its 34-episode run, with 60m users watching the last episode on YouTube — despite it being aired on TV and screened in theatres.
ARY Plus is an online streaming service owned by the ARY Group which already hosts ARY Digital’s expansive catalogue of shows and telefilms. The app also hosts movies from the group’s film production arm ARY Films and livestreams of the group’s TV channels.
