South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun had a telephone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi on Friday and discussed the situation in the Middle East, including freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, Seoul's foreign ministry said, according to Reuters.
Meanwhile, IRNA reported that Araghchi and his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, discussed bilateral ties and the latest regional developments during a phone call.
Both sides pointed to the escalation of tensions and the rise in insecurity across the region and underlined the need to keep cooperation and diplomatic efforts going in order to prevent the spread of the crisis and return stability and security to the neighbourhood, according to IRNA.
