President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed hope that Canada’s new package of sanctions against Russia, including measures aimed at making it harder for Russia to produce ballistic missiles, will take effect as early as October.
The Ukrainian President said this while speaking to media representatives in Canada, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“Canada is preparing several important packages of sanctions against Russia. First, it is important to accelerate the anti-ballistic sanctions. These are precisely the sanctions that will make it more difficult for Russia to produce ballistic missiles,” Zelensky said.
He noted that efforts should simultaneously be made to secure Patriot missiles and to increase pressure on every Russian enterprise and every Russian contractor in other countries that helps the aggressor state manufacture ballistic missiles.
“Canada is preparing such an anti-ballistic sanctions package for the fall. I want to thank them for this. We very much hope that the package will be accelerated so that it can take effect as early as October,” the President said.
