IPčko says the number seeking help has doubled in five years.
Seven people at immediate risk of taking their own lives contact the Slovak crisis service IPčko on an average day.
The non-profit recorded 15,030 contacts involving suicidal thoughts last year, twice as many as five years earlier. Another 2,300 people who contacted its counsellors had attempted suicide.
The numbers have remained high this year. About 8,000 people experiencing suicidal thoughts contacted IPčko in the first six months of 2026, while almost 1,300 were in immediate danger.
IPčko published the figures on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10 September.
