The attack on Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), in Benue State on Tuesday has further underscored the high level of bitterness being injected into Nigeria’s politics.

It would seem that the Hyacinth Iormem Alia and Monday Okpebholo administrations in Benue and Edo, respectively, have declared Obi a persona non grata in their states, or they are telling him to visit with visas. Sad!

Perhaps Obi needs a visa to visit Benue

The hatred is deepening. The highhandedness is expanding. The intolerance is bursting at the seams.

While the National Peace Committee (NPC), convener of the peace accord signing ceremonies, is preaching unity among Nigerians irrespective of religion, ethnic and political leanings, politicians are deepening hatred in society.
