The need to move from a purely port-centric approach to an integrated model linking technology, infrastructure, destination management and regional cooperation was highlighted by Dimitris Apergis, CEO of the Corfu Port Authority (OLKE S.A.), during a discussion on shipping and ports at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair.He placed particular emphasis on smart solutions and data to improve passenger flows and the visitor experience, as well as on the potential to create an integrated cruise network in the Ionian Sea, with destinations such as Paxos complementing Corfu.At the same time, Apergis highlighted OLKE’s participation in the European DECOMPRES, ANEMOS and ARGONAUT programmes, with a focus on greener, smarter and more resilient port infrastructure.
