IQM plans to deliver an upgradeable quantum computer capable of supporting logical qubits to Finland’s LUMI AI Factory by 2029.

The phased deployment will begin with a 150-physical-qubit Halocene H4 system in 2027, followed by upgrades for real-time error correction in 2028 and an H5 system in 2029.

LUMI-IQ will support up to nine logical qubits and integrate quantum computing with the facility’s artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure.
