ALBAWABA - American fashion house Ralph Lauren is under heavy criticism and backlash over a collaboration with Israeli actress and former soldier Gal Gadot in its fall collection.Ralph Lauren shared on its official Instagram account photos featuring the Israeli actress from her September 2026 Modern Luxury cover shoot. The American brand displayed the "Wonder Woman" actress wearing pieces from its Fall 2026 collection, including gilded eveningwear. Ralph Lauren posted the images and wrote, "Actor Gal Gadot shines on the cover of @ModernLuxury, wearing gilded dresses from the Fall 2026 Ralph Lauren Collection," sparking an online campaign with pro-Palestinians calling to boycott the American luxury brand.Hundreds of comments read, "Goodbye forever Ralph Lauren," "Very disappointing," "Everyone but her," "#canceled Ralph," and "Boycott Ralph Lauren".Days earlier, Adidas faced a similar boycott campaign after a local Israeli advertising campaign featured a former Israeli soldier, who had one of his limbs amputated after being injured while serving in the Israeli army.Activists staged a boycott campaign of the German sportswear company over the campaign, which promoted Adidas' Single Shoe service and showed Shalev Biton, who lost his left leg after being injured while serving in the Israeli military in 2021.However, Adidas apologized in a statement, reading, "We recognize that an image used in a recent local activation by the local team has raised concerns and strong reactions."The company added, "It was never our intent to cause offense and we apologize for anyone affected. We acknowledge the concerns that have been raised and are taking the feedback seriously."
