Volvo will end EX40 production in the US after the 2027 model year.
The larger EX60 will become Volvo’s new entry-level electric SUV.
The EX60 offers more space and range while costing just $3,250 more than the outgoing EX40.
Volvo is making big changes to its lineup, with a host of new models heading our way in the not-so-distant future. We’ve already seen the EX60 and the updated XC40. But with new models coming in, a few will have to head out. The EX40 is the latest.
After pulling the plug on the entry-level EX30 EV in the US earlier this year, Volvo will also end production of the electric EX40 in 2027. The new XC40 arrives for 2028 with a fresh design and a more efficient mild-hybrid powertrain, but it won’t spawn an electric version anytime soon.
