Apple has launched its first folding smartphone, the iPhone Duo, entering a market currently dominated by Samsung and Chinese companies such as Huawei with a new, passport-shaped form-factor that analysts expect to be successful in the specialised, but lucrative, foldables market.
The Duo opens into a 7.6-inch screen that can be viewed vertically and has roughly the same proportions as the smaller exterior display, which Apple said would make for a consistent experience.
Apple said the roughly $2,000 (£1,476) device is modelled upon the iPad.
