Republicans face an uphill battle with the majority of polling favouring the Democrats to win the House and the putting the Senate as a toss-up, results that could end Trump's term as a lame duck.‌‌"If the Republicans win, you win with us, and you get $5,000," Trump told the crowd during his near two-hour long speech. He went on to urge voters to "pretend that I'm on the ballot".Trump was accused of bribing voters ahead of the elections on November 3. The unprecedented vow could add more than $1trillion (£738.3billion) to the country's rising debt.‌"There is a crazy little sick cloud over our country," Trump added. "We will defeat communism in America."Trump and many conservatives have previously hit out at liberals and Democrats for proposing policies they could not fund. The US President made a gamble buy putting the proposal and himself at the centre of his speech and pledge to American voters this year.The economy is the top issue among voters with two months to go. Trump's policies, including tariffs and his ongoing War in Iran have increased the cost of petrol and goods coming into the country from overseas - hitting Americans in their wallet.‌"If we lose, you’re going to lose your border, you’re going to lose your tax cuts, you’re going to lose your safety and security, you’re going to lose your wealth," Trump said. "Our country is going through hell – we will be going through hell, just like we did, just two years ago."While there were thousands of supporters, there were many seats that were visibly empty throughout the speech. Trump then wrongly claimed the arena in Dallas was full."Not only is this packed but you have an equal number of people standing outside," he said. This was not observed by reporters at the scene."Tonight only confirmed that the president is a lame duck failure who is dragging his party toward defeat," said Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee. He added the Republicans held a "bizarre dog-and-pony show" to placate Trump's "fragile ego."
