MANILA, Philippines — A viral photo of a police vehicle without a license plate has prompted the Philippine National Police (PNP) to inspect its service vehicles and verify their plates and documentation.

“I have already ordered an immediate investigation to ensure that all rules on vehicle identification and road compliance are strictly upheld without exception,” PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement on Thursday.

The directive was issued after a police vehicle assigned to the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) was spotted along Commonwealth Avenue without a license plate.FEATURED STORIES
