The company claims the setup allows iPhone Duo to deliver up to 35% better sustained performance than the iPhone 17 Pro.The A20 Pro features a six-core CPU, seven-core GPU and dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the CPU is up to 20% faster than the A19 Pro, while the GPU is up to 40% faster and more power efficient.The chipset is built using a 2nm process and offers 50% more unified memory bandwidth, according to Apple.48MP Camera SystemThe iPhone Duo gets a 48MP Fusion Main camera capable of capturing images at up to 48MP resolution. The camera features sensor-shift optical image stabilisation, a fast aperture and a large sensor for improved low-light photography.It also offers an integrated optical-quality 2x Telephoto option.The main camera is joined by a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera, which also supports macro photography.The foldable design enables several camera features that make use of the two displays. Duo Preview, for example, lets subjects view a live preview on the outer display while the rear cameras are being used.Apple has also introduced Smart Take, which uses on-device AI to analyse the scene and automatically capture a photo when subjects are ready.The iPhone Duo gets a new Center Stage front camera, which can automatically adjust framing based on the device's orientation.For video, the main camera supports 4K recording at 120fps in Dolby Vision.iOS 27 Gets A Foldable-Focused RedesignThe iPhone Duo runs iOS 27, which has been adapted to take advantage of the foldable display.Apple has moved several controls towards the sides of the interface to free up vertical space for content. When the phone is opened, users can access two Home Screen pages along with Today View.The Dynamic Island has also been redesigned for the new display arrangement.The larger inner screen introduces Split View multitasking, allowing users to run two apps side by side. Users can also open two windows of the same application, such as Safari, and quickly switch between apps.Apple has also updated StandBy for the foldable form factor. iPhone Duo can enter StandBy on either display when placed on a surface, including when it is not connected to a charger.Apple Intelligence And Siri AIThe iPhone Duo supports Apple's Apple Intelligence features along with the new Siri AI experience.Apple says Siri AI can use personal context to find information across supported apps, understand what is displayed on the screen and take actions based on what the user is doing.The company is also adding AI-powered tools for photo editing, Image Playground and Safari.Apple says its AI system combines on-device processing with Private Cloud Compute for more complex requests.Dual-Battery DesignApple has used a dual-battery architecture in the iPhone Duo, with one battery positioned on each side of the foldable device.The company claims up to 31 hours of video playback when using the inner display and up to 44 hours when using the outer display.When both displays are used equally, Apple says iPhone Duo can deliver up to 24 hours of usage per charge.The phone can charge up to 50% in around 20 minutes. Wireless charging can take the battery to 50% in around 30 minutes using a compatible MagSafe or Qi2 charger.eSIM-Only DesignThe iPhone Duo features an eSIM-only design worldwide.
