The animated series "South Park" saw a boost in viewership in 2025 for seasons 27 and 28, with many episodes poking fun at President Donald Trump and members of his White House administration. A name change and statement from the show’s co-creators suggests more criticism of Trump is coming.
‘South Park’ is Now ‘South America’
The long-running animated series used many real storylines involving Trump for ideas for episodes last year, including company executives showering the president with gold and gifts. The show also took things beyond the real world with Satan involved alongside Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
Season 29 of "South Park" might have a name change for the franchise, according to a recent social media post.
"Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company, Paramount – a Skydance Capitulation," a post on social media reads, and is said to be from the show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
