George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Wednesday, said President Bola Tinubu is working hard to reduce the pains of the ongoing economic reforms by focusing on household recovery

This is as he also urged religious leaders to see peacebuilding as part of national security and to help steer Nigerians toward unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akume, speaking at the 12th Synod of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, said President Tinubu “deeply values the prayers of the Church, its humanitarian interventions, and contributions to peace, national cohesion and moral formation.”

Akume, while speaking on the economy, acknowledged the difficulties Nigerians have faced under the ongoing reforms and added that ” the Government recognises the fact that these reforms come with some inevitable pains
