Samsung is apparently of two minds when it comes to reacting to Apple’s first foldable device, with some interesting reactions to the iPhone Duo’s unveiling, calling the device “a Sims sequel” and “reheating our leftovers.”

Apple’s first foldable is official, with the iPhone Duo sharing a form factor similar to that of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Samsung’s device has been very well received since its debut in July, though one could argue that the new shape was somewhat of a reaction to Apple’s imminent arrival on the scene. Chicken or egg, your choice, but Samsung’s public reaction has been quite something to watch.

The foldable pioneer was welcoming to Apple ahead of the launch, but the Twitter/X feed tells another story. Samsung called the iPhone Duo a “Sim sequel” and “So far, so same,” referring to how much of what the iPhone Duo can do has been seen on existing Android foldables, including Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Samsung further poked fun at Apple only having one foldable form factor and, for whatever reason, took issue with the idea of using the Duo as a clock, but also called the iPhone Duo a case of “reheating our leftovers.”

Let us know when you're done reheating our leftovers 😉— Samsung Mobile US (@SamsungMobileUS) September 9, 2026
