FC Barcelona has turned the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season into something resembling a video game set to rookie difficulty. Twenty-two goals in five matches gives the Catalan club a per-game average north of four, the kind of number that would look suspicious on a FIFA stats screen.

The Blaugrana currently sit atop the La Liga table with a near-perfect points haul.

A month of carnage

The destruction started on August 23 with a 5-0 demolition of Elche away from home. Eight days later, Barcelona hosted Rayo Vallecano and won 5-2. Then came Valencia on September 6, another 5-0 rout.

Across those first four league fixtures, Barcelona bagged 17 goals. The additional five that bring the total to 22 came from early-season competition play outside of domestic league action.
