Variety has unveiled its 2026 class of 10 Actors to Watch.

Since 1998, the franchise has singled out breakout performers on the cusp of the industry’s front ranks and the track record speaks for itself. Past honorees include more than 35 Oscar winners and nominees, among them Mahershala Ali, Timothée Chalamet and Brie Larson.

Last year’s 2025 class already made good on their honors. Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas landed a supporting actress Oscar nomination for the Norwegian familial drama “Sentimental Value.” Chase Infiniti followed “One Battle After Another” with an Emmy nomination for lead drama actress this year for Hulu’s “The Testaments,” while Miles Caton broke through as both performer and songwriter in Ryan Coogler’s horror smash “Sinners.”

This year’s honorees were co-programmed by Clayton Davis, chief awards editor and Emily Longeretta, director of features. The 10 breakout sensations will be profiled in the Oct. 7 issue of Variety and will be celebrated at an Oct. 18 in-person brunch at the Newport Beach Film Festival Honors.

“Partnering with Variety to spotlight the 10 Actors to Watch is one of the highlights of our year,” says Gregg Schwenk, CEO and co-founder of the Newport Beach Film Festival. “This group is proof of what’s next — actors with the range, the instincts and the presence to define the next era of film and television. We couldn’t be more honored to be hosting this incredible group of emerging talent at the 27th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival Honors Brunch this year.”
