The emerging talents on Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood Impact Report represent not just the present, but the future of entertainment. These actors, musicians, athletes and content creators are all between the ages of 18-28 and have had breakout years thanks to a special mixture of skill and luck. “I truly believe in the power of timing,” Inde Navarrette, star of the smash indie horror hit “Obsession,” tells Variety. “‘Obsession’ came out at a time when people were starting to believe my generation had lost its love for cinema. Now there’s undeniable proof that younger generations will, in fact, go to the movies.”
Grammy-nominated musician Gracie Abrams, meanwhile, is looking forward to making her screen acting debut in the A24 film “Please,” from “Babygirl” director Halina Reijn. “My next project scares the f out of me and that makes me know I’m in the right place,” Abrams shares. “It’s incredibly humbling and it’s feeding my curiosity.”
