nna Cathcart walked onto her first-ever set at just six years old. Her role? Sit, slurp a spoonful of soup, and smile. It was a commercial for Campbell’s.

“I had no lines, no script, nothing,” the now 22-year-old actress says. It was followed by another commercial spot four years later for Crayola Chalk. Once again, she had no lines, but that didn’t matter. It was the best day of her life.

“That was truly a turning point,” she says. “I remember leaving and turning to my mom saying ‘if I can have that feeling and do that more, let's do anything to make that happen.’” Twelve years later, Cathcart is on set daily. She stars as Kitty Song-Covey on the hit Netflix show Xo, Kitty. She was first cast as Kitty seven years ago for the film To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, which at the time wasn’t yet connected to its now distributor Netflix—let alone a three-film franchise that led to a spin-off show made for Cathcart’s character.

Kitty has been a reassuring character for Cathcart: “She’s been someone to hold hands with while I’m growing up… it’s like we're doing it together,” she says. But Cathcart is looking beyond the teen role. While there is a potential season four of Xo on the horizon, Cathcart’s other upcoming roles include voicing a bird in 2026’s The Angry Birds Movie 3, and bringing some more (not yet announced) projects to life as a producer.
