Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime, starring Robert Pattinson, is set to open the Beyond Fest genre festival in Los Angeles after bowing in Venice.

The A24 film also starring Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers and Jeff Zucker playing himself will make its West Coast premiere at the Director’s Village. This year’s festival running from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 will feature in all 10 world premieres of its own.

Those include a first look for Nobuhiko Obayashi’s Hausu, paired with Conor Oberst’s short Invention 13; V/H/S/MIXTAPE, from director RZA, Flying Lotus and Ernest Dickerson; RZA’s Saturday Afternoon Kung-Fu Theater – ‘Born Invincible’ series; and debuts for a host of 4K film restorations.

There’s also Beyond Fest screenings for Alex Gibney’s Musk, Bassam Tariq’s Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother, a restoration of Ken Russell’s The Devils, and Robert Eggers will give a first look at material from his upcoming film Werwulf, while also bringing earlier horror pics like The Witch, The Lighthouse and The Northman for repertory screenings.
