Consumer Reports hasn't yet tested the redesigned 2027 Lexus NX, though its interior appears to borrow heavily from the newly redesigned Lexus ES sedan, which CR is currently testing. CR found the ES shares the same 14-inch touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, knurled center volume knob and flush-mounted climate control buttons expected in the NX, with the only spotted difference being an uncovered cup holder in the NX versus a covered one in the ES. CR found the ES's touchscreen responds well and represents a real step up from prior Lexus systems, crediting a home screen that avoids a confusing menu maze along with large, easy-to-see icons. Testers noted the NX retains electronic push-to-open interior door handles that require a short tutorial for new passengers, and found the climate control buttons spaced far enough apart to avoid accidental presses, though they wished the buttons were distinguishable by touch alone.
