The Ballari district police have made elaborate security arrangements and announced traffic diversions ahead of the BJP’s public meeting at the Municipal High School Grounds in Ballari on Thursday.The meeting is being organised as the concluding programme of the BJP’s Ballari Chalo padayatra. The police said the arrangements had been made to ensure the meeting is held peacefully and to minimise inconvenience to the public.According to directions issued by Superintendent of Police Suman D. Pennekar, three district Superintendents of Police, four Additional Superintendents of Police, 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 40 Circle Police Inspectors, 63 Police Sub-Inspectors, 120 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 960 Head Constables and Constables, and 200 Home Guards have been deployed for bandobast duty.In addition, 12 platoons of the India Reserve Battalion and Karnataka State Reserve Police, six platoons of the District Armed Reserve and one Quick Reaction Team have been deployed.Traffic restrictions will be in place around the meeting venue. The police have advised motorists to avoid roads passing through Gadigi Chennappa Circle, Indira Circle, Durgamma Temple Circle, S.P. Circle and H.R. Gaviappa Circle and use alternative routes.Vehicles arriving from Siruguppa have been advised to take the Moka Road via Valmiki Circle (S.P. Circle) and Durgamma Temple Circle. Vehicles arriving from the Bengaluru side have been advised to use the Anantapur bypass road.The police have also designated separate parking arrangements for vehicles carrying BJP workers and other participants.Buses carrying participants will drop them at Sangam Circle and proceed to parking areas along the Anantapur Road bypass and Moka Road. Cars will be parked on both sides of the road between Sangam Circle and the Anantapur Road bypass. Parking for two-wheelers has been arranged on one side of the road between Sangam Circle and Cool Corner, while cars will be allowed to park on the other side.Ms. Pennekar has appealed to the public and motorists to cooperate with the police and follow the traffic diversions to help regulate congestion during the meeting.
