A trilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping could take place in November, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, as Moscow also signals that talks on ending the war in Ukraine could soon resume.Peskov’s remarks were cited by the Russian state-run news agency TASS on Wednesday, Sept. 9.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official.“The possibility of holding a trilateral summit... exists at the APEC meeting in Shenzhen,” Peskov said.He also confirmed that the issue was discussed during a phone call between Putin and Trump on Tuesday, Sept. 8.“During their phone call, Putin and Trump discussed the possibility of organizing a Russia-China-US trilateral summit on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen,” Peskov added.Therefore, the leaders could meet as early as Nov. 18-19, 2026, when China is scheduled to host the APEC summit in Shenzhen.Moscow signals possible return to Ukraine talksPeskov also made a new statement on Ukraine, saying that Moscow expects trilateral negotiations to resume in the “foreseeable future.”“We would not want to – and will not – discuss any specific points publicly, especially since there are currently no, shall we say, formalized, integrated programs or roadmaps,” Peskov said.“There is a shared initiative and a shared political will – which has been confirmed – to resume trilateral negotiations,” he added.According to Peskov, dialogue with the Trump administration on the issue is ongoing.
