Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he plans to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in September and will then work on organizing a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States and Russia.
He made the statement while speaking to journalists and commenting on the results of the visit to Kyiv by U.S. negotiators, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We thank the American side, first of all, for unblocking the negotiations between us – between Ukrainians and Russians. This visit is confirmation of that. Second, we had a very difficult night today, with many people injured and also fatalities. My sincere condolences to their families and loved ones. We discussed the shortages we are facing, which are being felt, including the winter package and anti-ballistic missiles," Zelensky said.
He stressed that during the massive Russian attack last night, Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy around 90% of the enemy targets. However, Ukraine still needs anti-ballistic missiles to counter the Russian threat.
