Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) On Tuesday disclosed a multi-billion dollar agreement with Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ).

Why the Verizon fiber deal matters

The agreement covers over 80 million miles of high-density optical fiber and connectivity solutions spanning 2027 to 2032.

The deal is positioned around Verizon’s broadband expansion goals (40–50 million broadband passings) and the long-haul network buildout needed for next-gen AI infrastructure.

The deployment is intended to support growing consumer broadband and converged-service demand while expanding broadband access for homes and businesses and building the national long-haul network needed for AI hyperscalers.
