Welcome to our live blog of the Nintendo Direct for Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Kicking off at 3pm BST, the 45-minute presentation is set to be the second presentation of the week for the Japanese platform holder following yesterday's 40th anniversary celebration of The Legend of Zelda.
With Zelda out of the way, that leaves the door wide open for Nintendo to focus on the rest of its first-party games today. Personally, I'm holding out for a brand new 3D Mario game, but despite a few leaks and rumours, it really is anyone's guess as to what get's shown off during the presentation.

It looks like the new Kirby was the highlight of the show, although I'm sure many will be pleased to see a new 2D Metroid coming so soon.
