Doctor Who star Noel Clarke has been charged with sex offences by London’s Metropolitan Police.
The British actor best known for playing Mickey Smith, boyfriend to Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler, on the BBC show from 2005 to 2010, was charged after detectives received “a file of evidence.”
Clarke, aged 50 and from Kensington, faces two charges of sexual assault, three charges of voyeurism and one charge of exposure. Voyeurism refers to when someone secretly watches, photographs or films another person without their consent for sexual gratification.
The offenses, said the Met Police, are alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2016 and relate to five women.
It comes five years after a Guardian exposé published claims from 20 women accusing Clarke of groping, sexual misconduct and bullying, as well as sources alleging they were “sexually harassed or inappropriately” touched on the set of Doctor Who. ITV, Sky and CAA cut ties with the actor soon after, and BAFTA rescinded his Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award.
