Unlike conventional dental examinations, the platform does not require specialised equipment or a clinic visit for the initial screening. Users can complete the image-capture process using their smartphones and receive an initial assessment within minutes.However, Oral Link does not position the technology as a replacement for dentists. Instead, it is intended to serve as an early dental screening tool that can encourage people to seek professional care when a potential problem is identified.This approach could be particularly useful for people who delay dental visits or do not have regular access to dental services. By giving users an early indication of possible problems, the company hopes to encourage them to take action before their oral health worsens.Startup Expands Community Screening EffortsOral Link has also been testing its technology through community dental screening programmes across Singapore. The company has conducted screenings at locations including Siglap Community Centre and Kreta Ayer Community Centre.The startup has worked with healthcare and community organisations as it develops its screening network. Its deployments have included organisations such as National University Health System, AsiaMedic, Pacific Prime and active ageing centres.The company’s partner KELLS has reported strong interest in some of these programmes. In one community screening initiative at the Chinatown Active Aging Centre, more than 100 senior citizens were screened in less than two hours. Another programme in Bedok received more than 300 registrations, with about 40% of participants booking a follow-up appointment with a dentist.The HSA registration could help Oral Link expand these programmes and build greater confidence in its healthtech solution.
