Coca-Cola is using weddings and other family celebrations to mark 75 years of its presence in Nigeria, taking its anniversary campaign into celebrations in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kaduna.

The beverage company’s “WOW Idea” activation saw three couples receive surprise appearances from popular entertainers, live performances and N3 million cash gifts during their wedding ceremonies.

The initiative is part of Coca-Cola’s “E Don Tey, We Still Dey” anniversary campaign, which draws on the brand’s long association with family gatherings and milestone events in Nigeria.

In Lagos in July, Jennifer and Tunde had completed their wedding vows when the celebration took an unexpected turn. The lights went down before actress and comedian Bisola Aiyeola appeared, followed by singer Chike, who performed for the newlyweds.
