Noted journalist Jijo John Puthezhath, Special Correspondent at Malayala Manorama Kochi unit, died due to cardiac arrest in Kochi on Wednesday. He was 52.He was the recipient of the 2015 Ramnath Goenka Award for excellence in journalism.He is survived by his wife, Ramya Joseph, a teacher at Sarva Shiksha Kerala in Kochi, and children Ananya Jijo and Johan Joseph John.Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has condoled the death of Puthezhath, who he said was a dear friend and shared the same hometown. He recollected having spoken at length with him during his days as MLA and Opposition Leader. “Jijo’s name will remain etched in my mind as testimony to my strong bond with him and his family,” he said.
