Russian forces launched nearly 40 attacks on 20 settlements in the Sumy region between the morning of September 8 and September 9, causing civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

In the Sumy community, a Russian drone struck a car, killing an 83-year-old woman and injuring two men. Other drone attacks injured two more civilians.

In the Sumy district, a Russian drone strike on a train injured 13 people, including men aged 19 to 78 and women aged 60 to 82.

Another 78-year-old man was killed by the explosion of an unidentified object in the Mykolaivka community.
