A new Counterpoint Research report shows Apple, Garmin, and Huawei bucking a market-wide decline in smartwatch shipments in Q2 2026, with Huawei reaching a record share of global shipments. Here are the details.

Apple records growth across all regions

In a new report published yesterday, Counterpoint Research says the smartwatch market saw a 4% year-over-year decline in global shipments in the second quarter of 2026.

According to the report, Apple saw the biggest jump, with shipments up 14% year over year and accounting for 20.1% of global smartwatch shipments. This kept Apple in second place, behind Huawei, which saw shipments grow 1% year over year and held a 21.8% share.

The ranking continues with Imoo, which held a 7.8% share despite a 3% year-over-year drop in shipments, followed by Xiaomi at 6.1% with a whopping 38% decline. Garmin held a 5.6% share after shipments grew 11%, while other brands collectively accounted for the remaining 38.5%, with shipments down 8% year over year.
