Russians have struck a diesel train in the Sumy region, injuring nine passengers.
The head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, reported this on Facebook , according to Ukrinform.
“This terrible day of ‘hunting’ passenger trains continues. Another strike occurred in the Sumy region, this time on a suburban diesel train. Once again, the train was stopped in advance for safety reasons after a threat was detected, and the passengers were evacuated,” the statement reads.
According to preliminary information, nine passengers sustained shrapnel injuries after failing to move to a safe distance.
Pertsovskyi recalled that, in frontline communities, railway rolling stock and infrastructure are among the enemy’s primary targets. Therefore, all passengers are urged not to ignore warnings of danger and, when an evacuation is announced, to immediately go to a shelter or move at least 200 meters away from the train.
