Russian troops carried out three strikes on Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) locomotives in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions; an assistant train driver was killed in one of the attacks.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovskyi.
He said that Russian troops carried out three strikes on Ukrzaliznytsia locomotives—two in Zaporizhzhia and one in the Sumy region.
“We managed to evacuate two crews in time; none of them were injured, but the third strike in Zaporizhzhia ended in tragedy—the train driver managed to get to safety, but the assistant train driver, who was in the rear cab, could not be saved,” Pertsovskyi wrote.
He added that the full circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
