Members of the Navya Andhra Teachers’ Association on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) said that the claim made by a section of employee and teacher union leaders regarding the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) not yet being constituted in Andhra Pradesh, which was cited as a reason for the delay in announcing Interim Relief (IR), was incorrect.In a statement, the association’s State president K. Harikrishna and general secretary M. Srinivasa Rao stated that through G.O. Ms. No. 68, issued on July 12, 2023, the State government had officially constituted the 12th Pay Revision Commission and appointed former IAS officer Manmohan Singh as the Pay Revision Commissioner and also specified the terms of reference for the Commission. Subsequently, through G.O. Ms. No. 21, dated February 22, 2024, the government issued orders providing the staff and administrative arrangements required for the functioning of the 12th Pay Revision Commission.They said although the Commissioner subsequently resigned, the resignation of the Commissioner and the dissolution of the Pay Revision Commission were two separate matters. “If the government has dissolved the 12th Pay Revision Commission, it should make public the relevant Government Order and provide clarity to employees and teachers,” they demanded, adding that instead of initiating the process of constituting a new 12th Pay Revision Commission, the government should continue the Commission already constituted through G.O. Ms. No. 68 and immediately appoint a new Commissioner.They also demanded that a specific time limit be fixed for submission of the Pay Revision Commission’s report and that, in view of the considerable delay that had already occurred, Interim Relief should be announced immediately as an urgent financial measure to provide relief to employees and teachers.
