Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay will miss Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League opener against Arsenal after undergoing a successful procedure to correct a heart arrhythmia.
According to Reuters, the 29-year-old Scotland international underwent a planned ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital after being diagnosed last week with a mild, benign arrhythmia.
Napoli confirmed that the procedure was successful and said McTominay will observe a rest period of around two weeks before returning to training.
“McTominay will observe a rest period of around two weeks before resuming training,” the Italian club said in a statement.
