Volkswagen is having a rough time right now, but at least its new and affordable electric cars are doing just fine in Europe. The recently introduced Electric Urban Car Family, represented by the subcompact Volkswagen ID. Polo, Skoda Epiq, and Cupra Raval, is seeing huge success, with tens of thousands of cars ordered already and waiting lists that go on for months.
The ID. Polo, which went on sale in April, is now sold out, with over 30,000 orders on the books and a ten-month waiting list, according to a major Volkswagen dealer group quoted by Automotive News. The electric crossover version of the automaker’s iconic nameplate, dubbed ID. Cross, is also seeing robust demand, even though the first units are expected to land in dealerships in November.
