The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has said its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections are being funded through donations, levies and contributions from members, stakeholders and well-wishers.
The party stated this in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, on Tuesday, while providing clarification on its funding and candidate selection processes.
Mr Director said that the party, being a new political organisation without elected public office holders, had to develop mechanisms to raise resources for its operations and election-related activities.
He said that the party’s constitution provided for contributions from aspirants, members, stakeholders and members of the public to support its activities.
According to him, all contributions and levies are paid directly into the designated party account and managed by the appropriate organs of the party.
