Four alleged hijacking suspects were arrested after police intercepted a stolen VW Polo in Bonteheuwel.

A stolen cellphone allegedly helped police track down four suspected hijackers after they fled from an airport-area robbery and were intercepted in Bonteheuwel.

According to Western Cape police and local ward councillor Angus McKenzie, the alleged suspects were nabbed after the hijacking close to Cape Town International Airport was reported on Monday afternoon.

McKenzie shared a video on his Facebook account of the skelms being arrested and said the gang of car were “criminals who make the police’s job easier”.

He claimed in the post that after hijackers made their getaway, the suspects apparently took the victim’s cellphone too.
