A second alleged drug mule has been arrested at OR Tambo International Airport within four days, with police seizing approximately two kilograms of cocaine worth more than R800,000 in the latest bust.

An alleged drug trafficker, 45, was intercepted and arrested at OR Tambo International Airport, where police seized approximately 2kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than R800,000.

The man was arrested by police on Monday, following intelligence-led information.

SAPS national spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda van Wyk said the man was allegedly en route to Hong Kong, China, when police arrested him at the airport.

“A subsequent search of his luggage resulted in the seizure of drugs suspected to be cocaine.”
