Ukraine’s Ground Forces have launched a campaign to recruit women for Unmanned Systems Forces under the slogan “Women in Mid-Strike: Strike Like Princess Olha.”
The project was presented at Ukrinform by the Ukrainian Ground Forces together with the Drone Force Center for Recruitment and Training of Unmanned Systems Specialists.
The large-scale campaign aims to highlight opportunities for women in modern, technology-driven military professions and promote the creation of mixed-gender and all-female crews in unmanned systems units.
“This is about and for women in unmanned systems, about the opportunities the military offers them today and the needs the military has. We launched this campaign, called ‘A Common Cause,’ six months ago, and during this time it has shown that technology-driven military professions are an area where women are already working, actively joining and can continue to develop,” said Tetiana Muraviova, Head of the Drone Force Center for Recruitment and Training of Unmanned Systems Specialists.
For the Ground Forces, one of the priority tasks in the unmanned systems sector is developing the mid-strike capability – attacks by unmanned systems at a range of 100–600 kilometers. Women recruited to the units will operate drones of this type.
