U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said significant progress had been made in efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, including preparations for the next round of trilateral talks.
Witkoff said this in a post on social media platform X on Monday, according to Ukrinform.
He illustrated his post with photos from his visit to Kyiv.
“At President Trump’s direction, United States negotiators visited both Moscow and Kyiv in order to facilitate additional dialogue to end the Russia-Ukraine War,” the Special Envoy said.
According to Witkoff, ahead of the trip, the Russian and Ukrainian sides agreed to a three-day ceasefire to enable the negotiations to take place.
