WASHINGTON, September 7. /TASS/. US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff has stated that his and US president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s visits to Moscow and Kiev have yielded "‘substantive progress" in the negotiating process on the Ukrainian settlement.

At US President Donald Trump’s direction, United States negotiators visited both Moscow and Kiev "in order to facilitate additional dialogue to end the Russia-Ukraine War," Witkoff wrote on X. "Substantive progress was made, including movement on scheduling additional trilateral talks," he added.

According to the US presidential envoy, Trump is making every effort "towards a lasting and durable peace."

He also noted that along himself and Kushner, the talks both in Moscow and Kiev involved "officials from the National Security Council, State Department, and Treasury Department." In Kiev, national security advisors from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France joined the delegations "to collaborate on the path forward," he said.
