Ukraine continues preparations of its housing and utilities infrastructure for the heating season, with about 80% of residential buildings already ready for winter.
The Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport announced this in a Telegram post, according to Ukrinform.
"Ukraine continues preparing its housing and utilities infrastructure and social sector for winter. Despite the risks posed by the war, work is underway in all regions. As of early September, more than 114,000 residential buildings had been prepared for the heating season, accounting for 79.2% of the planned total," the ministry said.
In addition, 14,194 boiler houses and more than 13,300 km of heating networks have been prepared, along with 2,900 water-supply pumping stations and more than 8,300 wells.
Some 20,600 social infrastructure facilities, including schools, kindergartens and healthcare institutions, are also ready.
