Paris Saint-Germain have locked down one of their most important defensive assets. Willian Pacho’s contract has been extended through June 2031, a move confirmed on September 4, 2026.
The renewal arrives at a particularly convenient moment for PSG. Scouts from both Arsenal and Manchester City were reportedly in attendance during PSG’s 2-2 Ligue 1 draw against Lille on September 7, evaluating the Ecuadorian as a potential defensive reinforcement. Neither club has made an official bid, and with a fresh long-term deal now in place, any interested party would need to bring a very large checkbook to the negotiating table.
From Frankfurt bargain to Parisian cornerstone
PSG signed Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2024 for a fee of around €40 million, with add-ons potentially pushing it to €45 million. Two years and over 106 appearances later, his estimated market value has nearly doubled to €80 million.
Pacho has gone from a promising acquisition to an indispensable starter, featuring in every one of PSG’s opening Ligue 1 matches this season. He has been a fixture in a backline that helped the club win back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles.
